We work as both a General Contractor and Subcontractor depending on the project. In addition to being a painting contractor we also self perform steel and concrete repairs and preventative bridge maintenance. We serve the Bridge and Highway, Power, and Infrastructure Markets.
Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for an Environmental Manager at Ahern Painting Contractors Inc. The Environmental Manager shall be responsible for the oversight of all environmental issues related to the Work, including compliance with all environmental requirements and applicable regulations. These responsibilities shall include, but not be limited to development and implementation of site-specific environmental procedures and plans, compliance with federal and state documentation of environmental approvals, continual monitoring of the Contractor’s adherence to such procedures, plans, regulations and standards, and implementing corrective action and/or mitigation measures as necessary to comply with the requirements set forth in the Contract Documents.
Qualifications
- Experience in Environment Health and Safety (EHS)
- Proficiency in Environmental Compliance and Policy
- Knowledge of Environmental Issues and Impact Assessment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field
- OSHA 40-hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response(HAZWOPER) or 8-hour HAZWOPER refresher training taken within the past 12 months.
- New York State Department of Labor Asbestos Inspector Certificate)
- C3 Initial or C5 Refresher
- NYSDEC Endorsed 4 Hour Erosion and Sediment Control Contractor Training
- NYS Professional Engineer License (not required but preferred)
