AHL’s office in downtown Honolulu is seeking a Marketing Manager to join our highly creative and collaborative team. The successful candidate for this position will participate in developing and implementing marketing approaches under the guidance of our CEO and Market Leadership. The Marketing Manager oversees marketing efforts, which include content development, social media management, and marketing databases. They collaborate closely with various teams to ensure consistent messaging across all platforms. This role involves managing both internal and external marketing communications while supervising the execution of client-facing experiences. They are innovative, forward-thinking, detail-oriented, and passionate about creating meaningful connections with clients.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design and develop marketing approaches in collaboration with the CEO and Market Leadership.
- Proficient in the methodologies and protocols for developing Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Requests for Qualifications (RFQs), and SF330 submissions aimed at acquiring new business prospects.
- Skilled in managing the entire proposal lifecycle. This involves vigilant monitoring of the HANDS Hawaii and GovTribe platforms for emerging opportunities, collaborating with subject matter experts (SMEs) to craft and refine written content, and curating appropriate imagery.
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure the effective development of proposals and the successful execution of events.
- Craft and create proposals and presentations that align with AHL’s brand standards.
- Coordinate project workflow with studio leadership by defining key deliverables, assigning tasks, setting deadlines, and establishing internal checkpoints.
- Coordinates and optimizes the production timeline for marketing collateral, ensuring alignment with project milestones and resource availability.
- Organize team page-turn meetings for review and feedback, ensure timely submission of materials, and conduct debrief sessions.
- Optimize the process for acquiring project close-out data to ensure the prompt completion of marketing collateral.
- Adequate negotiation and effective communication are required with various teams involved.
- Ability to draft and edit project descriptions and award submissions focusing on clarity and impact. The role is essential for ensuring that key messages resonate with our target audience and adapting the writing style and tone to meet the specific needs of diverse audiences.
- Strong ability to adapt writing style to suit various platforms and formats, including formal reports, engaging marketing content, and professional emails.
- Facilitate meetings with the PR firm to enhance collaboration and align messaging.
- Collaborate with authorized photography vendors, the project team, and the client to plan, coordinate, and produce high-impact imagery following project completion.
- Leverage InDesign and Photoshop for the design and enhancement of impactful marketing collateral.
- Create and manage a comprehensive suite of marketing materials, serving as the office's repository for print and digital assets. This encompasses publications, brochures, data presentations, imagery, file management, and the client database integral to our marketing initiatives.
- Conducts in-depth industry trends and competitor behavior analysis to uncover emerging marketing opportunities or refine current marketing approaches.
- Facilitate the firm's positioning in accordance with established brand standards and overarching goals to enhance alignment with organizational goals and market pursuits.
- Facilitate and oversee corporate and external events to strengthen organizational culture and foster client relationships. Capture high-quality images of office events and maintain a meticulously organized photo repository for marketing and promotional purposes.
- Providing mentorship to the marketing coordinator and technical support staff while demonstrating strong leadership skills.
- Other specific responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant fields such as Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Architecture, Interior Design, or Graphic Design.
- A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in marketing within a design or professional services firm, with a focus on management roles.
- Practicing mindfulness and proper etiquette in various meeting settings, demonstrating professionalism and respect, and skillfully assessing meeting dynamics to respond appropriately.
- Strong understanding of different writing formats and the ability to adjust style accordingly.
- At least 2 years of demonstrated experience in crafting RFPs, RFQs, SF330 submissions, and presentation packages.
- Mastery in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and the Microsoft Office Suite is required.
- Proficiency in Illustrator a plus
- Expertise in digital media practices, including website updates and management, social media platforms (LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube), maintenance and use of image databases (OpenAsset), email marketing, and Flipsnack.
- Experience using Monday.com or similar project management tools.
- Ability to stay organized and meet deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and precision in all deliverables.
- Self-motivated with strong organization, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
- A creative mindset and aesthetic sensibility, particularly in the context of architecture.
- Genuine enthusiasm for architecture and design.
- Exceptional track record in event planning, demonstrating the ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships.
- Outstanding negotiation and communication skills are essential for effective stakeholder engagement.

Salary Range $90,000 to $100,000
