What are the responsibilities and job description for the Process Control Technician (Kaukauna, WI) position at Ahlstrom?
Ahlstrom is a global leader in the paper industry! The Thilmany Mill in Kaukauna is seeking a Process Control Technician. This position will be responsible for working with a team to help troubleshoot electrical and digital issues throughout the pulp and paper mill.
- This position works 1st shift Monday thru Friday and shares an on-call rotation once a month.
- Starting Rate of Pay: $38.67 per hour
- If candidate possesses a Journeyman card, able to honor years of experience towards vacation eligibility
Responsibilities
- Electrical and digital troubleshooting
- Must be able to use a multimeter to troubleshoot electronic circuits.
- Must be able to read and understand loop sheets, P&ID drawings, and function diagrams.
- Must be able to use crimping, and other hand tools.
- Computer Servers, Processors, and other related hardware
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of processors and their functions.
- Demonstrate troubleshooting abilities required to diagnose and repair processor-based systems and related components.
- Demonstrate how to configure processor-based control systems (e.g., PLC, Drives, Single loop controllers, loop tuning.)
- Must be able to troubleshoot, rebuild and install Windows based PC’s.
- Must be able to configure, deploy and troubleshoot DCS networking systems, servers, switches, controllers, etc.
- Must be able to understand Moore Apacs logic and Wonderware graphics configuration, Rockwell Plant PAx DCS logic and FT Studio graphics configuration.
Requirements
- Electrical Journeyman Card Preferred
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office products.
- Must be able to demonstrate proficiency with the PI administrator system.
- Ability to work in groups and be self-directed.
- Required to participate in 24-7/365 on-call, duty rotation schedule.
- Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Ability to successfully pass a post-offer background check and drug screen
- Must follow Ahlstrom’s manufacturing and hygiene processes, procedures and policies, as applicable to the position’s areas of responsibility, to meet and maintain the safety, quality, and regulatory compliance requirements for each grade of paper.
