Overview
Monterey Park Hospital, located in the San Gabriel Valley of Los Angeles County, is a 101 bed acute care community hospital. We are currently recruiting for a HIM Clerk for our HIM Department. This position is a per diem, 8 hour, day shift position.
Responsibilities
The HIM Clerk is responsible for scanning medical records into the electronic medical record system. He/she will pick up all patient discharge documents, assist physicians with chart review, and assist with physician suspension notifications of incomplete charts. The HIM Clerk will complete other tasks as assigned by the HIM Director.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
High school graduate or equivalent required. 1 year experience in Health Information Management Department preferred. Proficient in computer usage with experience in scanning documents in an electronic medical record. Must be able to follow oral and written directions, communicate effectively with all levels of hospital staff, including physicians.
