Primary Purpose
Support the Ahold Delhaize operating banner Loyalty, Strategy and Marketing teams and other end users by completing advanced projects, providing models, segmentations and self-service tools when appropriate, and participating in the maintenance and improvement of internal customer databases.
The Decision Sciences team works in partnership with cross functional teams within Peapod Digital Lab and the ADUSA banners to create a data driven understanding of our customers. This team generates business value through advanced analytics and data visualization techniques including building predictive models and interactive dashboards to uncover useful insights.
Our flexible/ hybrid work schedule includes 3 in-person days at one of our core locations and 2 remote days. Our core office locations include Salisbury, NC.

Duties And Responsibilities
- Serve as a strategic business partner to out Great Local Brands while leading a team of analysts to deliver strategic insights and recommendations based on customer behavior
- Assess business needs and develop appropriate analysis plan(s) based on objectives and key critical metrics.
- Complete complex analytics projects for the banner Customer Insights teams and other banner business partners -- this includes Test & Learn, Segmentation, and Predictive Models
- Provide business partners with clear, actionable insights and recommendations based upon analytics results
- Participate in maintenance and improvement of customer databases by sharing data QC responsibilities and providing new customer scoring algorithms to the customer database support team
- Develop self-service analytical tools when appropriate including user guide and documentation
- Develop and deliver presentations that communicate results and application of analysis to various levels of leadership
- Bachelor’s degree in analytical field such as Computer Science or Engineering. Master’s Degree preferred.
- 7 years experience in an analytics leadership role
- Strong knowledge of SQL and statistical programming language (Python preferred)
- Experienced at experimental test design, KPI selection and root cause analysis
- Strong knowledge of statistical techniques, such as parameter estimation, hypothesis testing, and advanced modeling techniques
- Strong knowledge of data management
- Experience in retail or CPG customer analytics a plus
- Databricks a plus
- Project management and the ability to lead multiple projects at once while maintaining timelines and quality.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the capability to present and articulate the vision in a way everyone can relate to.
