Clerk Print Operations

The primary purpose of the Printer Operator is to provide complete operational support by managing computer systems including the Xerox Docu Print 155MX, BARR Remote Spooler, and mainframe output queue to process business data, reports and other documents.

Duties and Responsibilities :

Enters commands using keyboard of terminal to process mainframe printing and interface with BARR Spooler

Observes machine and error messages displayed on system controller to detect faulty output or machine stoppage and take corrective action

interprets messages from BARR spooler and performs corrective action >

Monitors console messages and reacts according to direction from system software and application programs

Clears equipment at end of operating run, and reviews schedule to determine next assignment to ensure workloads are completed accurately and on time

Provides appropriate communication and support with customer for report distribution and troubleshooting issues

Assures accuracy and completeness of all processing by visual checks

Performs preventive maintenance on production equipment

Responsible for printing and separating computer generated output and distribution

Communicates and documents potential problems to management

Retrieves store orders via Intranet and process orders

Performs equipment operation (printing, scanning copying and finishing) to proactively maintain movement and replenishing of forms stock

Perform requested testing for reports, invoices, and W2's

Operator is responsible to obtain verification from Greenville, use mainframe applications to move job from queue to printer, perform intervention procedures if job does not transfer from Barr to printer, clear jams, assure accuracy of print, and follow procedures to comply with confidentiality.

Operator must be able to recover the print in the event the laser printer fails as well as verify sequence of checks.

Operator feeds the checks through machine and then sorts, separates, and bands checks according to store number, office and PDC. Checks are stacked in trays in numerical store order on a flat cart and delivered to the payroll department.

The operator must follow all procedures established to comply with confidentiality.
