Job Description
AHRC NYC is seeking a passionate and experiencedDance Instructorto join our Adult Day Program Services team. This role involves teaching dance appreciation and various dance styles while fostering an inclusive and creative environment for adults with intellectual disabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead engaging dance sessions that encourage movement, creativity, and self-expression.
- Adapt teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
- Provide opportunities for participants to explore and create unique dance experiences.
- Establish connections with community dance organizations to enhance program offerings.
- Locations: Opportunities available in all five boroughs.
- Schedule: Flexible, with workdays ranging from1 to 5 days per week,4 hour shifts per day.
- Compensation:$25 per hour.
- Benefits: No traditional benefits; however, sick time is provided in accordance with policy.
Qualifications
- Education:Bachelor’s degree in Dance or a related field.
- Experience:Prior experience teaching dance classes; experience working with people with intellectual disabilities is not required but welcomed.
- Skills:Open-minded approach to teaching, ability to inspire and engage adults of varying abilities, and strong communication skills.
