JOB SUMMARY : The Plant Operations Director will report directly to the Administrator. Responsibilities will include grounds maintenance, pest control, and hazardous waste for both campus's and all offsite operations. Responsible for monitoring and ensuring that all properties are in livable and workable conditions relative to cleanliness and safety. Directs remodeling and construction related to all facilities.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
1.A bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field, or extensive management experience
with additional management / leadership training.
2.Minimum of five years experience in a hospital or related organization.
3.Ability to motivate and promote team environment.
4.High degree of initiative, organization and perceptiveness.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1.Evaluates, develops and implements departmental policies and procedure
goals and objectives, and standards of work performance for the maintenance
and repair of medical equipment, buildings and building systems including
boilers and other equipment which provides air conditioning, communications,
heating, steam, hot water, electricity, sanitation and medical gases.
2.Develops, implements and directs a preventive and corrective maintenance
program to insure efficient and uninterrupted operation of the entire physical
plant and all related operating equipment within the facility.
3.Plans and coordinates the repair or recommends the replacement of, or additions to, equipment or physical structures as needed.
4.Plans, develops and participates in a continuing departmental training program
and orientation programs in the repair and maintenance of all equipment,
including medical equipment; evaluates the effectiveness of the programs and
adjusts and modifies course content as necessary.
5.Provides for an inventory and storage of materials, parts and equipment; provides for material issuance and requisitioning and maintains adequate supply levels.
6.Responsible for selection and coordination of all maintenance service contractors.
7.Insures that contractual provisions and Hospital construction schedules are met
and satisfy established standards of hospital policy and government regulations
and codes.
8.Acts as liaison among Hospital administration, engineers and architects in conjunction with new construction projects.
9.Supervises and directs assigned staff to include interviewing and hiring new staff, evaluating work performance, counseling, disciplining, and terminating and
participating in the adjustment of employee grievances.
10.Coordinates departmental activities and responsibilities with other hospital departments and medical administration staff.
11.Develops annual operating budget to include personnel, equipment, materials and supply needs, monitors budget after adoption; develops remodeling budgets in concert with and for the approval of administrators.
12.Prepares and presents various statistical and operating reports, audits staff timesheets and maintains staff personnel files and records.
13.Coordinates fire and safety measures throughout the Hospital, serves as liaison
between Hospital and state officials; directs the development of policies and
procedures relative to fire and safety.
14.Maintain regular attendance.
15.Perform other duties as requested.
