Position Summary:
The Plant Director directs manufacturing, inventory management, budgets, customer satisfaction, purchasing, quality, and maintenance. This is a hands-on position with high visibility and a strong presence throughout the operation, including manufacturing facilities, distribution centers, and maintenance. This position is responsible for providing leadership and direction in support of corporate goals, driving initiatives, and has P&L responsibility of the company.
The ideal candidate must also understand ERP systems and Customer Relationship Management. Detailed-oriented with ability to oversee projects from origin through execution. Willingness to learn and should be able to flourish in a high growth, dynamic, entrepreneurial environment. Ability to create and manage highly functioning teams.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop a positive work culture.
- Develop a strategic plan to advance the company's mission and objectives and to promote profitability, and growth as an organization.
- Oversee company operations to ensure quality, safety, production efficiency, service, and cost-effective management of resources.
- Provide strategic leadership and direction to the manufacturing operations, purchasing, and maintenance departments.
- Coordinate manufacturing, purchasing, and logistical operations over multiple departments, partnering with other Directors and management.
- Develop capital spending budgets for operations facilities and equipment, and ensure projects are completed in accordance with the budget.
- Generate opportunities for non-intercompany revenue streams for manufacturing, warehouse and shipping.
- Managing organization operations by directing and coordinating manufacturing activities consistent with established goals, objectives, and policies.
- Ensuring that as the company grows, manufacturing capabilities meet or exceed all industry and customer requirements for cost, quality, and responsiveness. Implementing improved manufacturing processes and management methods to generate higher ROI and workflow optimization.
- Interact regularly and communicate proactively both internally and externally, to resolve process and operations issues promptly, optimize results, and create successful collaborative environment.
- Ensuring that environmental programs are in place and managed effectively through practices and controls.
- Oversee and maintain procedures for ensuring managers and supervisors have appropriate practices and controls in place to ensure a safe and secure workplace for employees in conjunction with the safety and human resources departments.
- Directing and overseeing material control for the material cycle, purchasing, warehousing, inventory control and shipping to ensure quality, efficiency, and cost control.
- Working with your team to establish manufacturing standards for cost control and waste reduction, oversee the design, development, communication and implement manufacturing best practices.
- Reviewing, analyzing, and preparing reports, records, and directives, and confers with managers/supervisors to obtain data required for manufacturing planning activities, such as new products, status of work in progress and problems encountered.
- Responsible for recruiting, retaining, and developing top talent. • Develop and lead staff by active coaching and training while cultivating a collaborative team culture, creative problem solving, and results driven operations.
- Participate in strategic planning and business plan development. • Drive quality of delivered products and services.
- Maintain and improve upon safety rules, practices, and procedures to assure the safety of associates, building, ground, and machinery.
- Enact contingency plans as needed; escalate and direct activities during system problems, disasters, etc.; identify potential problems, troubleshoot, escalate issues to President & CEO and participate in post-mortem analysis of problems providing input for future process improvements.

Job Skills & Qualifications
Required:
- Proven experience as Plant Director or in other managerial position
- Experience in developing profitable strategies and implementing vision
- Familiarity with diverse business functions such as marketing, PR, finance etc.
- In-depth knowledge of corporate governance and general management best practices
- Implement manufacturing operations strategy in alignment with company plan and customer needs.
- Create and execute policies and programs to maximize capacity and ensure high quality and low costs.
- Lead manufacturing organization for establishing teamwork and morale and develop plans for manufacturing and plant staff.
