We are currently constructing our new state of the art sawmill in the beautiful Lake Martin Region of Alabama, to compliment out current Demopolis operation, built in 2017. Position Overview
As a Dry Kiln Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and driving the success of the Dry Kiln department at our new sawmill in the Southern US. You'll have the opportunity to utilize your expertise in the Dry Kiln and the forest industry to optimize production processes, enhance efficiency, and lead to ensure the highest standards of quality and safety are maintained.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and direction to our dry kiln interests, optimizing operational performance and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
- Oversee all aspects of dry kiln operations, including production planning, operational maintenance, quality control, employee management and safety protocols.
- Develop and implement innovative strategies to increase productivity, reduce costs, and maximize profitability.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to lead crew members and operations, optimizing efficiency and performance.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and employee development, empowering team members to achieve their full potential.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including suppliers, customers, regulatory agencies, and local communities.
- Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices, implementing new technologies and practices to drive innovation and competitive advantage.
- Must be willing to work safely in a sawmill/industrial environment.
- Must be willing to work any shift, with the ability to work overtime, weekends, and holidays if needed.
- Other duties as requested.
Qualifications
- Proven track record of 3 years of progressive leadership experience in dry kiln operations and the forest/sawmill industry, with a demonstrated ability to effectively manage operations and drive strategic initiatives.
- Strong technical knowledge of dry kiln equipment, processes, and industry best practices acquired through hands-on experience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Demonstrated leadership qualities, including integrity, resilience, and a passion for driving continuous improvement.
- Willingness to relocate to the Southern USA
