Responsibilities
- Schedule surgeries, acting as liaison between physician, patient and hospital.
- Consult with patients and review pre-op requirements.
- Schedule pre-op appointments.
- Obtain benefit quotes and calculate estimate of patient responsibility for hospital procedures.
- Obtain Prior Authorizations for hospital procedures.
- Obtain medical clearance and facilitate required referrals.
- Prepare pre-op packets and review pre-op labs
- Maintain/Update Surgical Consents.
- Maintain Surgery Calendar.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment to promote efficiency.
- Other administrative duties to support clinic operations and management.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a medical office setting is required.
- Familiarity with insurance plans and Medicare/Medicaid processes in SC preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
- Pleasant and effective communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of work.
- Ability to work well under pressure and time contraints.
- Experience with EHR required.
- Associate's Degree or Minimum of 5 years Medical Office Experience.
