Responsibilities:
Since 1991, Aurora Pavilion Behavioral Health Services (as part of Aiken Regional Medical Centers) has brought renewed hope for those suffering from emotional and behavioral disorders, and those with alcohol and substance use disorders. The 62-bed facility, located on the campus of Aiken Regional Medical Centers, is accredited by The Joint Commission. The facility offers comprehensive, individualized treatment services by a multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists, psychiatric nurses, clinicians, mental health technicians and recreation therapists who are committed to high quality care.
Office Assistant provides clerical support to management team, medical staff, and other support services. Prepares correspondence, performs clerical/administrative tasks. Organizes and manages the administrative office to facilitate its smooth and efficient operations, which includes facilitating communication within the office and those external to the office. Other duties as requested by the Administrator of Aurora Pavilion.

Duties:
- Prepares all correspondence and provides clerical support for administration, marketing, nursing, medical staff and other ancillary departments.
- Organizes and manages the administrative office to facilitate its smooth and efficient operation.
- Facilitates communication within the office and those external to the office.
- Performs clerical administrative tasks.
- Coordinates activities/functions for the administrator, business development coordinator, clinical nurse manager and medical staff.
- Provide switchboard coverage when needed.
- Reviews nursing procedure charges weekly.
- Serves as security control officer for locking system.
- Serves as mailroom assistant batching of all outgoing mail.
- Responsible for back-up coverage of Aurora's Outpatient Psychiatric Services.
- Back-up for scheduling and cancelling appointments for outpatient services
- Responsible for completing payroll for the management team.
- Responsible for completing and distributing Psychiatric On-Call Monthly Schedule.
- Other duties as assigned.
- During periods of critical staffing, will assist clinical staff in patient rounds, help ensure pt safety and comfort, and assist with non-clinical patient care duties under the supervision of a Mental Health Technician, LPN or RN.

Work experience requirements: Previous experience in secretarial or general office procedures.
Required skills, knowledge and abilities: Computer experience. Proficient in Microsoft Office programs. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
