The Director of Business Development is responsible for identifying, cultivating, and growing business opportunities while building meaningful relationships that align with AIM’s mission. This role requires an entrepreneurial mindset, strategic thinking, and the ability to drive results through innovative engagement strategies. The Director will represent AIM Institute at various events, manage a robust pipeline of prospects, and implement comprehensive business development strategies to advance AIM’s philanthropic and programmatic goals.
Essential Job Functions :
- Develop and execute a comprehensive business and philanthropic engagement strategy to support AIM’s growth and mission.
- Build and maintain relationships with high-value accounts, organizations, and community leaders.
- Identify strategic partnership opportunities and create tailored business proposals.
- Collaborate with internal teams to align business development efforts with AIM’s programs and initiatives.
- Attend and actively participate in community events and other outreach opportunities.
- Serve as an ambassador for AIM, communicating its mission, values, and impact to diverse audiences.
- Develop strategies to enhance community awareness and engagement, fostering a strong presence in the tech and nonprofit sectors.
- Cultivate donor, member, and client relationships through personalized engagement and follow-ups.
- Design and implement impactful donor / funder / member campaigns, including fee-for-service contracts and sponsorship opportunities.
- Lead the moves management process to effectively transition prospects to long-term partners.
- Leverage CRM systems (e.g., NetSuite) to manage prospect data, track communications, and analyze outcomes.
- Prepare and present sales pipeline and revenue reports, identifying trends and opportunities for growth.
- Regularly evaluate the success of business development efforts and implement data-driven improvements.
- Work closely with the Development and Leadership teams to align goals and support cross-departmental initiatives.
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to a positive, mission-driven culture.
- Participate in strategy sessions, providing insights on market trends and opportunities.
- Help organize and assist AIM events, ensuring they align with AIM’s strategic goals.
- Research and write business proposals, donor appeals, and grant applications to secure funding.
- Actively promote AIM’s programs and services during all interactions to generate interest and support.
- Assist with delivering AIM services on a backup, as-needed basis.
