Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Survey Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting land surveying projects by collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data to ensure accurate measurements and schematics. This position requires a strong foundation in geometry, trigonometry, and proficiency in software tools such as AutoCAD and Revit. The Survey Technician will work collaboratively with engineers and other professionals to contribute to the successful completion of various projects.
Responsibilities
- Conduct land surveying activities, including utility locating and site measurements.
- Prepare detailed schematics and drawings using AutoCAD, Revit, or MicroStation.
- Analyze data collected from surveys to ensure accuracy and compliance with project specifications.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to understand project requirements and deliverables.
- Utilize geometry and trigonometry principles to calculate distances, angles, and elevations.
- Maintain equipment used for surveying tasks and ensure it is calibrated correctly.
- Document survey results clearly and concisely for reporting purposes.
- Assist in the preparation of project proposals and presentations as needed.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or MicroStation is essential.
- Strong understanding of land surveying principles and practices.
- Solid knowledge of geometry and trigonometry.
- Excellent data analysis skills with attention to detail.
- Experience in utility locating is a plus.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and clients.
- A degree or certification in surveying, civil engineering, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
