Clinical Therapist- Acute Psychiatric Care
Job Purpose:
Seeking a compassionate and skilled Therapist to join our team, focusing on diagnosing mental health issues and formulating personalized treatment plans. This role involves direct patient care and, when applicable, collaboration with families to provide holistic support. The Therapist is crucial in identifying mental health challenges and guiding patients towards effective solutions, ensuring a high level of care and empathy.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assess and diagnose mental health conditions in patients.
- Develop and implement tailored treatment plans.
- Refer patients to other healthcare professionals as needed.
- Provide counseling to individuals as required.
- Maintain confidentiality and professional communication at all times.
- Participate in continuous education and training.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- A Master’s degree in Psychology or a related field, required
- Experience:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of post-graduate clinical experience in a mental health setting, required
- Experience should include a combination of the following:
- At least 2 years of direct patient care in a clinical setting
- Completion of a supervised internship or residency program (typically 1-2 years)
- Experience with diverse patient populations and a variety of mental health conditions
- Additional experience (e.g., in trauma-informed care, substance abuse treatment, or specific therapeutic modalities) is highly desirable
- Licensure and Certification:
- Current and valid state licensure as a Mental Health Professional (e.g., Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Clinical Social Worker), required
- Additional certifications in specialized areas of therapy (e.g., CBT, DBT, EMDR) are preferred
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Empathetic approach while maintaining professionalism
- Ability to identify mental health issues and recommend appropriate treatments
- Commitment to patient confidentiality and ethical practices
- Proficiency in conducting psychological assessments and interpreting results
- Knowledge of current evidence-based therapeutic practices

Working Conditions:
- Primarily hospital-based with potential for remote consultations.
