Ainsley Search Group is hiring for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a Global OEM Company located in the Chester County, this OEM specialized in custom design, engineered and manufacture flow control systems for industrial, DOD, Oil and Gas field. This Design Engineer will report to the Engineering Director and support the Life cycle of new product development, formulate testing plans, FEA, modify design and support prototyping process. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity with lucrative base salary, bonus and competitive benefit.
Responsibilities:
- Report to the Engineering Director and collaborate with customer, Project Manager and cross functional teams to design, test and develop custom products based on customer specifications; conduct design drafting, detailing and modeling using Solidworks and 2D/3D CAD systems.
- Oversee the life cycle of product development and design, based on design speciications to develop BOM, ensure the transition from design to manufacturing process such as machining, metal fabrication, plating, coding and assembly.
- Generate and document product design specification, engineering documents, project logs, test reports, instruction manuals, and design evaluation.
- Oversee and support prototyping process, apply modification on design for enhancement.
- Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Application Engineer, Production, Supply Chain and Product Management team to ensure product development project is progressed within timeline and budget.
- Research vendors and suppliers based on material (aluminum, stainless steel, plastics, etc.), support sourcing, qualifying and on-boarding new vendors/suppliers for new product.
- Support starts of production on new product, oversee product process and document manufacturing process for new product, oversee final testing on new products to ensure tolerance and quality are met.
- Provide on-going support on new product function, testing, production, etc.; collect customer feedback and research, modify and re-design for improvement and enhancement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineer.
- 5 years of tenure as a Mechanical Design Engineer within Manufacturing and OEM industries.
- Solid engineering knowledge for the oil, gas, industrial fields, solid knowledge with Solidworks and CAD systems.
- Exposure to fabrication, machining, assembly, plating and coding process preferred.
- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills, able to apply creative and innovative thinking
- Excellent communication and people skills, ability work independently within a fast-paced environment
- Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple projects with minimum supervision.
