The Accounting Manager will report directly to the Vice President of Finance and will be responsible for overseeing key accounting functions, supporting strategic growth, and improving internal processes. You’ll lead a team of accounting professionals and collaborate with departments across the organization to drive accuracy, efficiency, and insight in all areas of financial operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Month-End Close & Reporting
Lead the financial close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation. Deliver accurate and timely reports to support executive decision-making. - Budgeting & Forecasting
Assist in the preparation and ongoing tracking of budgets. Provide analysis of financial variances and trends. - Accounts Payable & Receivable Oversight
Ensure timely processing of vendor payments and customer collections. Analyze AP/AR metrics to improve performance and working capital. - Inventory Accounting
Work closely with operations to maintain accurate inventory records. Oversee cycle counts, cost tracking, and purchase price variance analysis. - Audit Support & Compliance
Coordinate the annual audit process and ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal policies. Prepare schedules and documentation for external auditors. - Internal Controls & Process Optimization
Strengthen financial controls and help design scalable, efficient processes across all accounting functions. - Team Leadership
Direct a team of accounting professionals, providing training, support, and performance oversight. Promote collaboration across departments to ensure accounting procedures align with company objectives.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (CPA certification a plus)
- 5 years of relevant experience, ideally in distribution, logistics, or manufacturing
- Proven leadership skills and experience managing accounting staff
- Familiarity with ERP systems (experience with Sage X3 is a plus)
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting best practices
- Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving business environment
