Summary This position will be assigned to the JBSA Lackland NAF Resource Accounting Office. This is a Regular - Full Time category position with guaranteed 35 hours per week and may work up to 40 hours per week. Employees appointed to regular category positions are eligible for benefits. Responsibilities The purpose of the position is to provide IT support and IT customer service to 502nd FSS customers. Under general supervision performs routine and recurring assignments in the delivery of Information Technology customer support services. You will be responsible for setting up and maintaining a system or specific components of a system (for example, installing, configuring, and updating hardware and software; establishing and managing user accounts; overseeing or conducting backup and recovery tasks; implementing operational and technical security controls; and adhering to organizational security policies and procedures). Qualifying Experience : Must possess skills, and ability needed to work independently on firewalls and software on wired / wireless networks. Needs ability to troubleshoot and repair Paradyne ADSL / DSLAM modems. IAW DOD-8500.2 / 5200.2-R must possess Secret / SSBI clearance. Must have valid vehicle license to drive maintenance vans. Must successfully complete a pre-employment physical. Must be able to lift objects between 40 and 50 pounds frequently and climb stairs and ladders multiple times daily. This is a drug test designated position. Incumbent is subject to random drug testing. Must possess Cisco CCNA certification and A ,Security , Network or be able to obtain certifications within 6 months of employment. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA's) : Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and / or competencies in the following areas : 1. Systems administration methods and procedures 2. Monitor and troubleshoot systems availability 3. Recover data in the event of hardware or software failure 4. Ensure customers receive current versions of supported software as they become available 5. Install, configure, upgrade, and troubleshoot any hardware and software components Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution. FOREIGN EDUCATION : Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program.
