Summary This position is part of the Air Force Elements, U.S. Transportation Command, Transportation Command. The incumbent will serve as a Zero Trust Specialist within the USTRANSCOM's Command, Control, Communications, and Cyber Systems Directorate. Responsibilities The position(s) covered by this vacancy announcement is in the Department of Defense (DoD) Acquisition Workforce Personnel Demonstration Project (AcqDemo). For more information please see : AcqDemo This position is being filled under DoD Modified Direct Hire Authority, Section 1109; PL, 116-92, dated 12 / 20 / 2019. As an IT SPECIALIST (INFOSEC / PLCYPLN) at the NH-2210-03 some of your typical work assignments may include : Serves as a Zero Trust Specialist within the USTRANSCOM's Command, Control, Communications, and Cyber Systems Directorate. Leads, coordinates, communicates, integrates and is accountable for the overall success of cybersecurity programs, ensuring alignment with critical agency priorities. Conducts independent comprehensive assessments of the management, operational, and technical security controls and control enhancements employed within or inherited by an information technology (IT) system. Designs to security requirements to ensure requirements are met for all systems and / or applications. Develops and acquires system(s) that are consistent with organization's cybersecurity guidelines and Department of Defense's (DoD) modernization vision. Tests and evaluates information system security throughout the systems development lifecycle. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications You may qualify at the NH-03, if you fulfill the following qualifications : One year of specialized experience equivalent to the NH-02 (GS-11) grade level in the Federal service as listed below : Creating, reviewing, and delivering governance documentation, strategies, road maps, charters, and standards Assessing risk and mission impacts of security vulnerabilities Developing Risk Management Framework (RMF) authorization requirements for on-premise, cloud-based or big data storage environments Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. In addition to meeting qualifications, your application package must reflect the applicable experience to meet the Individual Occupational Requirements for the 2210, series as listed below : For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. Education Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this position.
