Summary
The Deputy Director is a senior leadership role responsible for assisting the Director in the overall management and operations of Bob Hope Village (BHV).
Responsibilities:
Lead and supervise Resident Service Technician and Security Guard department staff.
Ensure budget accuracy, maintain up-to-date financial records, and align expenditures with financial goals and prepare financial reports as needed. Reconcile receipts, credit card transactions, and the general ledger. Identify/support potential grant opportunities by providing necessary information. Responsible for planning, recruiting volunteers and the community relations, and assisting with set-up and execution and breakdown of resident events and holiday meals.
Facility Manager for Lounges/Club Houses, Community Center, and Chapel. Monitor/purchase items to keep facilities stocked. Primary point of contact for outside contractors to include contracted caterer. Facilitate all non-resident functions to include pricing, contract, and scheduling. Manages the RV parking: contracts, payments, insurance, issues, etc. Analyze facility performance metrics and resident feedback to identify areas for improvement and operational efficiencies.
Assists with maintaining resident medical status. Respond to resident emergencies, contacting family members. Responsible for operation and maintenance of medical alert program. Assist hospitalized residents, in an emergency, with personal care needs.
Oversees Resident Council procedures, members, voting, and bylaws.
Assists with incoming and departing resident process.
Provide support and leadership during hurricanes and other emergency situations.
Campus Risk Manager for BHV.
Qualification
Bachelor's degree or equivalent, with at least 5 years of experience in senior living, healthcare, or a related field, including 2 years in a management role.
CommunicationSkills: Excellent oral/written communication & presentation skills at all levels. Assist in mediating workplace disputes by facilitating discussions, promoting understanding, and helping to implement fair resolutions in alignment with organizational policies.
Cognitive Demands: Self-starter, attentive to detail and possess excellent organizational skills. Ability to organize and prioritize office duties with flexibility.
Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word).
Competencies: Problem-solving skills and adept at interpreting various forms of instructions. Support and foster a positive team culture by demonstrating strong leadership, active listening, and effective communication. Build trust and collaboration through empathy, conflict resolution, and relationship management. Capable of efficiently coordinating departmental and interdepartmental staff for effective teamwork.
Normal office hours are weekdays from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. Evening, weekend, and holiday shifts are required throughout the year. Travel to attend meetings and conferences as needed. Works primarily indoors with frequent outdoor events. Some lifting and carrying, not to exceed 30 lbs.
