About the Role:
The Air Force Test Center is looking for a Full-Time Chief of Plans and Programs (NH-0080-03) to work at the 96 Security Forces Squadron (SFS/S5) at Eglin Air Force Base.
The primary purpose of this position is: To serve as a first and/or second level supervisor, providing planning, directing, organizing and exercising control over supervisory and nonsupervisory employees assigned within a Security Forces Squadron.

Location: Valparaiso, FL (Eglin Air Force Base)
Typical 2025 salary range: $88,621 - $137,000 per year (includes locality)
Travel Requirements: Up to 25% travel possible
Direct Hire Authority: NO 6-MONTH WAIT! Recently retired and/or retiring from MILITARY service ARE eligible for immediate appointment for AFTC positions. The 180-day waiting period has been waived for AFTC to hire recently retired and/or retiring service members.
- Plan, organizes and directs the activities within a Security Forces Squadron, ensuring that administrative security programs comply with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customers needs.
- Directs, coordinates, and overseas work through subordinate supervisors.
- Establishes, develops, and maintains effective working relationships with wing, complex, and assigned or tenant organization command and security offices.
- Responsible for ensuring installation and unit security programs through the appropriate interpretation, planning, organizing, developing, and implementation of guidance and policy contained in a number of DoD/AF regulations concerning US National Security is successfully accomplished.
- Provides program management for full spectrum Intrusion Detection System (IDS) protection across ground dimension of air/space operations via synchronization of Integrated Defense to nullify/reduce effectiveness of enemy/sabotage.
- Identifies physical security detection system requirements to protect forces, vital equipment, and facilities against attacks.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- U.S. Citizenship
- May be required to travel on military and commercial aircraft to perform temporary duty.
- Must be eligible and maintain a security clearance.
- This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to random drug testing for drug use.
- This is a key position and incumbents must be removed from their military recall status if alternatives for filling
- the position during an emergency are not available.
- Knowledge of Security Forces Squadron mission and intricacies.
- Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures.
- Knowledge of policies, practices, regulation, and laws concerning administrative and resource management processes and initiatives.
