Job Summary
The production controller will be responsible for production cost control, production scheduling and production engineering.
Job Description
Production Engineering
- Understand the in-house and vendor’s manufacturing/assembly capabilities and define the BOO (Bill of Operations) for all parts.
- Use engineering drawings (from SolidWorks, AutoCAD etc) to define the most cost and schedule efficient way to produce parts.
- Organize work-orders and travelers per project, deliver them in a manner that optimizes production.
- Understand and implement capitalization and improvement ideas from previous projects / commissioning /operations issues.
Production Scheduling
- Based on the production floor capacity (man hours and machines), develop and maintain shop floor production schedule.
- Monitor and control cycle times for production orders. Work with the production floor to identify bottlenecks and resolve them.
- Work directly and independently with shop floor supervisors to identify the delays and re-schedule accordingly.
- Work with Material Review Board to determine priorities.
Production Cost Control
- Defines and controls standard cost of parts by calculating production, labor, and material costs.
- Support month-end processes, coordinate month-end accruals to Accounting.
- Issues, on a monthly basis, production cost reports, provides relevant information regarding unusual movements or results.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 5 years of experience in manufacturing/assembly.
- Must have exceptional organizational skills, strong written and oralcommunication skills-Knowledge of ERP (SAP preferred).
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel/Google Sheets.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- 5S and Lean Manufacturing experience.
- Strong knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs,and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distributionof goods.
- Strong task management skills and strong analytical ability.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and interface effectively across all levels of the organization inorder to meet the daily demands of internal and external customers.
- Attention to detail, excellent organization skills, self-motivation, ability to handle high-volume workload, and changing priorities in a high-paced department.
