The Manager of Retail Business Development provides strategic direction for increased revenue through growth and development initiatives. This individual must have the ability to communicate effectively while maintaining the highest quality of service and operational efficiency. This is a Monday - Friday role that may require occasional weekends to attend home shows.


Essential functions:

  • Identifies and develops new business opportunities.
  • Manages customer relationships and works to build new ones.
  • Collaborating with Sales team to meet targeted revenue goals.
  • Collaborating with Service Techs, Plumbers & Electricians to meet targeted revenue goals.
  • Expand Air Mechanical’s profile and reach of the company and its brand.
  • Utilize sales data to monitor performance, identify trends, and make informed decisions that increase the lead generation.
  • Develop strategic plans for optimized productivity.
  • Act as an escalation point for Retail related issues to resolve problems/issues promptly.
  • Ensure teams are trained to support the needs of customers and changing industry trends/standards.
  • Align Departmental goals to business objectives.
  • Monitor key performance issues with adjustments or improvements.
  • Facilitate Departmental meetings and L10’s.
  • Manage and oversee Departmental EOS foundational processes including accountability charts, rocks, setting the correct meeting pulse, scorecards, and V/TOs.
  • Maintain a culture that aligns with AMI’s core values: Integrity, Authentic, Commitment, Get “stuff” done, and the Pursuit of knowledge. AMI’s core values are critical to the success of this role.
  • Monitor financials to ensure revenues and expenses are managed within budget.
  • Preparation of forward planning/budgeting.
  • Reporting data and analysis of Retail activities/revenue to CEO and CFO consistently.
  • Supporting, encouraging, and coaching the Sales Team in their training efforts and development.
  • Supporting, encouraging, and coaching Service Techs, Plumbers & Electricians in their training efforts and development.
  • Completing reviews and evaluations of direct reports.
  • Documenting any employee concerns/issues and work with HR.
  • Other duties or revenue focused tasks as assigned or needed.


Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Knowledge in interpreting financial data, budgeting and analytics.
  • Proven success in a managerial/business development role.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Working knowledge of Service Titan preferred.
  • Maintain and exhibit the highest level of professionalism.
  • Exceptional communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Maintain confidentiality and integrity of team.
  • Effective problem-solving skills to resolve issues.
  • Strong work ethic with attention to detail.
  • Highly organized.
  • A high level of commitment to developing teams.
  • Computer proficient in MS Office applications (Excel/Outlook/etc.).
  • Clean driving record.


Physical Requirements:

This position requires interaction with internal staff within an internal and outside environment including interaction with AMI’s Retail Teams and customers. You may be required to drive a company vehicle at times and bend, stretch, reach, and with hands to grasp, type, hold, or move objects. Must be able to see/hear/and the ability to maneuver for driving on roadways/freeways in addition to office work. May be required to climb ladders/stairs and be exposed to heights and/or fumes at times. Must have the ability to use muscles to occasionally lift, push, pull or carry objects of not more than 50 lbs. Must be able to communicate over the phone, over email, and in person. Manual dexterity with fingers/hands to use computers, phones and electronic devices is required in this role.
