This position is responsible for assisting with the operation and maintenance of indoor and outdoor recreational facilities. The Recreation Assistant will work closely with other recreation staff to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for participants.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up recreation areas for scheduled activities
- Record attendance and take reservations for trips and tours
- Notify participants of schedule changes and arrange for equipment or tools
- Decorate community or neighborhood centers for special events
- Check the established safety system of indoor and outdoor recreation facilities
- Post announcements of scheduled activities and answer inquiries
- Take inventory of authorized recreation supplies and equipment
- Assist with group activities that require more than one staff monitor
Requirements:
- Practical knowledge of recreational activities, rules, and procedures
- Ability to speak, read, and write English
- Ability to work in a team environment and provide excellent customer service
