POSITION TITLE: IT SUPPORT TECH
DEPARTMENT: INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
REPORTS TO: IT SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR STATUS: NON-EXEMPT
GENERAL SUMMARY:
The IT Support Tech needs strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and a good understanding of various operating systems and network infrastructures. This role also plays a crucial part in ensuring the smooth operation of an organization’s technology systems, as well as minimizing downtime to ensure employees can work effectively without disruptions.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Ensures the proper functioning of computer systems, hardware, and peripherals through maintenance, analysis, troubleshooting, and repair.
- Documents, maintains, upgrades, or replaces hardware and software systems as needed.
- Manages and maintains user account information, including access rights, security settings, and group memberships.
- Provides end user support on standard operating systems, office applications, and ERP system.
- Collaborates with the IT Systems Administrator to enhance the organization’s technical capabilities.
- Assists with other projects as requested.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Associate’s degree and 1-2 years of IT Support experience
- Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in information technology.
- Problem solving, communication, collaboration, and time management skills
- Able to learn and adapt while supporting changes in business needs.
