Primary Duties and Responsibilities
1. Responsible for training, developing and leading the cleaning team.
a. Coordinate the daily activities of the cleaning team, providing direction and guidance as necessary.
b. Assign specific cleaning duties and tasks to team members based on needs and priorities.
c. Provide feedback and coaching to team members to improve performance and promote a positive, efficient work environment.
d. Create the cleaning schedules with input from the team members to ensure all areas of the facility are cleaned regularly and thoroughly.
e. Coordinate with other departments to ensure that cleaning tasks are scheduled at the appropriate times to minimize disruption.
f. Train and mentor new cleaning staff on cleaning procedures, equipment use, and safety protocols.
g. Provide ongoing training and support to improve team skills and performance.
h. Foster a positive, team-oriented environment and ensure clear communication among staff members.
i. Ensure that all cleaning team members follow company protocols, health and safety standards, and cleaning procedures.
2. Perform hands-on cleaning duties.
a. Perform general cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and emptying trash cans.
b. Clean and sanitize restrooms, offices, hallways, kitchens, and other designated areas as needed.
c. Operate cleaning equipment, such as floor scrubbers, carpet cleaners, and vacuums, to maintain the cleanliness of the facility.
d. Ensure the proper cleaning of surfaces, furniture, and high-touch areas to prevent the spread of germs and maintain a hygienic environment.
e. Efficiently restock toilet supplies to ensure a comfortable and sanitary environment for all areas.
3. Responsible for inventory and equipment management.
a. Order and manage the purchase of equipment and supplies from approved vendors, continuously monitoring the stock of cleaning supplies and equipment to ensure proper levels are maintained.
b. Report any damaged or malfunctioning cleaning equipment to management for repair or replacement.
c. Ensure proper storage and handling of cleaning chemicals, following safety procedures.
4. Health and safety compliance
a. Ensure that cleaning tasks are completed in accordance with health, safety, and sanitation standards.
b. Make sure cleaning team members wear and maintain appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

3) In-depth knowledge of various cleaning methods, equipment and materials as well as knowledge of different types of cleaning tasks.
4) Experience in managing cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring adequate stock levels and efficient use.
5) Ability to effectively assign tasks and responsibilities to team members, ensuring their work is completed on time and to the required standard.
6) Demonstrated problem-solving ability, identifying issues and addressing them promptly, finding solutions to ensure a clean and safe environment.
Technical Skills
1) Ability to organize schedules, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively.
2) Ability to consistently meet cleanliness standards, paying close attention to detail and identifying areas that need improvement.
3) Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and time and attendance systems.
4) Ability to understand, follow and enforce company policies and workplace standards.
5) Ability to build and nurture strong working relationships with team and colleagues, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements
1) Availability to work days, evenings and weekends depending on business needs.
2) Ability to stand, bend, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch and lift up to 50 lbs.
3) Visual acuity to use keyboard, operate office equipment, and read printed material and regularly required to talk and hear.
SCHEDULE: Full-time 40 per week. The schedule will include a variety of days, evening, and weekend hours. The work is performed in-person at the Air Zoo in Portage, Michigan.
HEALTH REQUIREMENT & Pre-Employment SCREENINGS: The Air Zoo follows CDC and Kalamazoo Health Department’s guidelines for preventing the spread of respiratory viruses and may require masks to be worn by employees in certain settings to improve safety.
