Production Supervisor
About the Role
The Production Supervisor will oversee and coordinate activities of production workers, ensuring efficient shop floor control methods and data analysis for process improvements. This role requires strong communication and administrative skills to implement company policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Inspect products to verify conformity to specifications, direct machine setup, and communicate changes to Team Leaders.
Analyze production schedules, estimate worker hour requirements, and ensure daily, weekly, and monthly PMs are performed.
Communicate company policies and procedures, providing feedback to HR where necessary.
Establish or adjust work procedures to meet production schedules.
Improve Kanban and recommend measures to enhance production methods, equipment performance, and product quality.
Suggest changes in working conditions and equipment use to increase efficiency.
Analyze and resolve work problems or assist workers in solving issues.
Conduct performance appraisals, handle disciplinary and morale issues, and work with HR on pay matters.
Maintain time and production records, coordinate training, and develop Team Leaders and Members.
Estimate, requisition, and inspect materials, coordinating expedited delivery schedules with customer service.
Coordinate department activities, communicate takt time changes, policy deployment progress, and key information to the team.
Participate in interviews for outside hires and promotions to Lead positions.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree from a college or vocational school.
Two to ten years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read, interpret business periodicals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to present information and respond to questions from managers.
Ability to calculate figures and solve practical problems.
Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Physical Demands
This role requires regular use of hands, reaching, talking, hearing, standing, sitting, and walking. Occasional lifting of 10-25 pounds may be required.
Work Environment
The employee works near moving mechanical parts, is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, and risk of electrical shock. The noise level is usually moderate to loud, and travel is limited to less than 5%.
