ASIC is looking for a Full Time Draftsman. Work hours will be 6:00 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Thursday. You will need to be able to pass a drug screen. Salary: Commensurate with education and experience.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
This position is for a Aviation Draftsman. This position will utilizes experience in 3D modelling software, and knowledge of fabrication processes to generate, maintain and revise engineering and manufacturing drawings in support of various design projects. Drawings may include both mechanical and electrical elements. Knowledge of 3D Modeling and Shop Practices preferred.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Coordinating with both the engineering and fabrication departments to understand the design intent, fabrication processes and installation aspects of the project/activity.
· Design and develop tooling for fabrication of aircraft components.
· Create, maintain, and revise in an accurate manner the drawings required under engineering direction.
· Demonstrating proficiency with the available CAD applications on hand and ability to adapt to new programs as necessary.
· Ensuring the company drawing standards are adhered to.
· While adhering to project time and date schedules, produce drawings that are clear and accurate. This is often with minimal input.
· Using computer based programs to clock in and out on assigned tasks.
· Adhering to ASIC company policies, safety guidelines, and code of ethical conduct.
QUALIFICATIONS
· 1 year of experience with Solid Edge or Solid Works
· Knowledge of and proficiency in drawing creation processes, and ASME Y14.5
· Must be able to accurately generate engineering and technical drawings with minimal input
· Possess the ability to work in several directions simultaneously.
Preferred, but not required:
· Knowledge of .pdf document creation and image manipulation software.
· Knowledge of 3D scanning equipment and scan data management software.
· Prior experience in or knowledge of manufacturing and fabrication processes.
REQUIREMENTS
Most often, the working conditions for the drafter are in an office-type environment. However, at times the drafter will be required to crawl inside the aircraft to access and observe specific design and installation aspects of the project.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $28.00 per hour
