What are the responsibilities and job description for the Estimador Civil position at Aireko?
Job Summary: As an integral part of our commercial civil construction team, the Estimator will generate and manage detailed estimates required for sales, pre-construction, and bidding efforts. This role focuses on providing comprehensive takeoffs, estimates, budget control, drafting proposals for various project scopes and phases. The Estimator will work collaboratively to support business development and sales goals.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain detailed pre-construction and construction estimates under the supervision of the Chief Estimator and Preconstruction Director.
- Lead the bidding process, identify requirements, maintain a professional relationship with suppliers and vendors, ensuring all bids meet deadlines and quality standards.
- Perform independent market analysis to stay updated on construction costs and industry trends.
- Conduct detailed quantity take-offs, maintain variance reports, and ensure quantity controls.
- Utilize software tools such as Sage Estimating, Excell, and On-Screen Take Off (OST).
- Analyze productivity for labor and equipment based on each project’s needs. Propose contingency, escalation, and reconciliations for critical items on all project estimates.
- Review project specifications and drawings to ensure quotes received from vendors meet project’s requirements and cost-effectiveness; suggest alternatives where applicable.
- Maintain a comparative analysis of scope, quantities, and cost data between quotes received to identify potential gaps and discrepancies.
- Identify potential risks and opportunities, communicating these effectively to executive management.
- Perform additional duties as required to meet project and business needs.
Requirements:
- Drafting Degree, Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in estimating for general construction, specifically within the commercial sector.
- Proficiency in using complex estimating, pricing models, and cost management tools.
- Demonstrated understanding of construction documents, blueprint reading, specifications MasterFormat and their application to estimating.
- Familiarity with construction software, including OST, Procore, Primavera, Sage.
