Join our team and be a part of an organization that is shaping the future of the gas and welding industry while fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.The Custodian is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and sanitary conditions of the manufacturing plant, including offices, restrooms, break rooms, production areas, and other designated spaces. This role ensures a safe, clean, and organized environment for employees, visitors, and the production process.
Cleaning and Sanitization:
Sweep, mop, vacuum, and scrub floors in all designated areas.
Clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, and showers.
Empty trash and recycling receptacles and dispose of waste properly.
Clean and disinfect break rooms, cafeterias, and lunch areas.
Wipe down and sanitize surfaces, including desks, tables, doorknobs, and handrails. Clean windows, mirrors, and glass surfaces.
Clean production areas, removing debris, spills, and other materials as needed.
Operate cleaning equipment, such as floor scrubbers, vacuums, and pressure washers.
Follow established cleaning schedules and procedures.
Maintenance and Upkeep:
Restock supplies in restrooms, break rooms, and other designated areas.
Report any maintenance issues, such as leaks, broken fixtures, or equipment malfunctions, to the appropriate personnel.
Ensure that cleaning equipment is properly maintained and stored.
Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and notify Plant Manager when supplies are low.
Perform minor maintenance tasks as assigned.
Safety and Compliance:
Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).1
Use cleaning chemicals and supplies according to manufacturer instructions and safety data sheets (SDS).
Report any safety hazards or concerns to the supervisor immediately.
Follow all plant specific regulations.
General Duties:
Assist with setting up and cleaning up for meetings and events.
Respond to cleaning requests and emergencies as needed.
Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor with employees and visitors. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
* High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
* Previous custodial or cleaning experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting is a plus.
* Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and procedures.
* Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
* Strong attention to detail and a commitment to cleanliness.
* Ability to lift and carry heavy objects, and to stand and walk for extended periods.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
* Understanding of safety procedures, and the proper use of PPE.
* Ability to read and understand SDS sheets.
Physical Requirements:
* Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
* Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and reach for extended periods.
* Ability to work in various environmental conditions, including exposure to dust, fumes, and chemicals.
* Ability to handle cleaning chemicals.
