Summary
The Tubes Department Technician will be responsible for various tasks including reading tape measures, interpreting blueprints, and using gages. The ability to listen and follow directions from the lead is crucial. This role involves cutting tubes to the correct length, grooving, polishing, and honing tubes to precise specifications. Cross-training will be provided in all areas within the department to ensure versatility and comprehensive skill development.
Essential Functions
Cutting Tubes:
· Accurately cut tubes to the correct length using a saw, ensuring precision and adherence to specifications.
Grooving Tubes:
· Perform grooving operations on tubes, following detailed instructions and maintaining quality standards.
Polishing Tubes:
· Polish tubes to achieve the required finish and smoothness, ensuring all products meet quality criteria.
Honing Tubes:
· Hone tubes to size, maintaining precise dimensions and tolerances.
Reading Blueprints:
· Interpret and follow blueprints to ensure all work meets design and specification requirements.
Using Gages:
· Utilize various gages to measure and verify tube dimensions, ensuring all products comply with required standards.
Listening and Following Directions:
· Actively listen to and follow directions from the lead technician, ensuring all tasks are completed accurately and efficiently.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment may be loud. Hearing protection is required in designated areas and available to all employees.
