General Description
Under the direction of the Director of Aviation, performs professional work to ensure compliance with all Federal Aviation
Administration (FAA), State of Louisiana, East Baton Rouge City-Parish laws, rules and regulations regarding airport
management. Work involves the overall coordination of departmental operations in the area of federal and state compliance. The
incumbent is subject to twenty-four hour call for situations needing immediate attention. Work involves the use of independent
judgment within established guidelines and is reviewed through written reports and conferences. May supervise clerical support
staff. Performs other work as requested.
Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in aviation management, airway science, or a related field.
SUBSTITUTIONS
Bachelor's degree in business or public administration or a related field, supplemented by two years experience in airport
operations or a closely related field, or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES/REGISTRATIONS
(Unless otherwise specified below, must possess at the time of appointment and must be maintained current throughout
employment in this classification.)
