Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Assembler to join our dynamic team in a manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate for the Assembler role in the Enclosure Department will be responsible assembling trailer components, reading blueprints, using hand and power tools, and ensuring quality standards are met while assembling manufactured products according to specifications with precision and efficiency. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, familiarity with various tools, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Ability to assemble machinery, fabricated metal products, electrical equipment, appliances, and more according to directions.
- Ability to position, align, and fit parts to form complete units or subunits, following blueprints and layout specifications, and using jigs, welding torches, and hand tools.
- Ability to position or tighten braces, jacks, clamps, ropes, or bolt straps, or bolt parts in position for welding or riveting.
- Skilled use of various hand tools to accomplish assigned tasks.
- Ability to use and read a tape measure.
- Maintains equipment and tools and performs basic repairs when needed.
- Operates forklift to move heavy equipment around.
- Cleans and lubricates equipment, maintains a manufacturing area free from debris and dirt, and readies or puts away tools as assigned.
- Measure dimensions of completed products or parts and workpieces to verify conformance to specifications with precision tools, ensuring compliance with function, quality, and cosmetic requirements.
- Periodically checks products per company policy to ensure quality and uniform completion; resolves any identified problems and alerts supervisor.
- Reports any issues to the supervisor or higher-level employee.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience reading and understanding blueprints and schematics.
- Detail-oriented and consistent.
- Works well as a productive member of a team.
- Basic ability in mathematics, reading, and writing.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to handle prolonged periods of standing, bending, and crouching down.
- Must be able to lift up-to 75 pounds at a time.
- Must have manual dexterity to assemble products as directed.
- Must have excellent hand-eye coordination.
- Ability to differentiate between colored wires, tabs, and electronic components.
- Steel-toed boots and safety glasses must be worn.
