What are the responsibilities and job description for the Service Advisor/Dispatcher position at AIS CONSTRUCTION EQUIPMENT?
AIS Construction Equipment is the oldest Michigan owned and operated heavy equipment company in the state and has been serving customers for over 60 years. We are looking for a Field Service Dispatcher to join our team. This is a full-time, in-person position and is based out of our Lansing branch M-F 7am-5pm. Responsibilities:
- Be part of the team responsible for managing incoming job requests via email and phone calls.
- Create work orders and assign jobs to service technicians based on location, availability, and skillset.
- Assess the urgency of each request based on the customer’s needs and the importance of ensuring our technicians have adequate home time.
- Interact with customers and service technicians, as well as sales, parts and administrative staff within AIS. Provide quotes, status updates, and follow-ups as necessary.
- Assist with locating parts and tooling for technicians to optimize job productivity.
- Assist with customer account collection as needed.
Requirements:
- 18 years of age or older with a high school diploma or GED
- Valid state-issued driver's license
- Minimum 2 years of experience with dispatching/customer service or heavy equipment repair knowledge
- Organized with strong written and verbal communication skills
- Phone etiquette
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Detail-oriented and ability to multitask
- Patience and ability to assess the urgency of each job
- Experience with construction equipment
- Ability to pass a drug screen and background check
- Preferred: Associate's Degree
