What are the responsibilities and job description for the Group Leader - DHC (Steel Manufacturing) position at AISIN North Carolina Corporation?
Job Summary: The Group Leader, Manufacturing works closely with Team Leaders and Management team to ensure their respective production line(s) are meeting quality Green Zone standards, documentation, and continuous improvement progress. Reporting to the Manager, Manufacturing, the Group leader supervises 2-4 Team Leaders and 20 to 40 total manufacturing Team Members. Works closely on the manufacturing floor to improve problems.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure company goals/targets are met on a daily basis regarding: Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Manpower, 4S, Machine up-time, etc.
- Leads continuous improvement activities that can increase productivity and reduce cost.
- Develop, implement, follow and countermeasure plans in support of company and departmental goals and targets. Especially quick implementation of CMs of customer issues. Work steadily and consistently towards targets.
- Complete and review routine reports for production line. Analyze process and quality trends and ensures that CMs are being implemented.
- Ensure the training and cross-training of the assembly team members is planned and completed
- Foster good working relationships between Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, PC, Maintenance, and Japanese coordinators to achieve the production goals.
- Mediate, as necessary, to work through problems. Be "hands on" and demonstrate "Genchi Genbutsu" (go and see) for significant issues.
- Fosters communication between Team Leaders and Managers and works closely with other Group leaders in Manufacturing, Assembly, and Quality, Engineering and Manufacturing support groups.
- Maintains updated schedule for respective manufacturing lines and meets with Team Members and leaders as necessary to plan and report on production process.
- Provides guidance to Team Leaders regarding policies and procedures and maintains heavy focus on safety, quality, production and continuous improvement efforts.
- Responsible for tall timesheets of group and approves all time off in accordance with company policy.
