Ajax Turner Company is seeking a Night Warehouse Assistant Manager to add to its Warehouse/Operations team. This position will support the order fulfillment and load team. Ajax Turner Company is a family owned and operated business located in LaVergne and has been in operation for 60 years.. The Company distributes a variety of products including Beer, Non-Alcohol, Wines, and Spirits.
SCHEDULE: Sunday - Thursday 2:00pm - the work is complete (no set off time).
Must be at least 21 years of age
High School Diploma or GED required.
Valid drivers license required.
3-5 years of warehousing or distribution experience preferred.
Forklift & MPE certification preferred.
1-2 years of prior managerial experience preferred.
Excellent safety record and understanding of the importance of workplace safety.
Must be able to perform the all duties and functions of the Night Warehouse Team.
Must have an injury and accident free mentality.
Physically fit and able to meet the listed physical requirements, see physical requirements schedule above.
Ability to effectively and safely operate a pallet jack, hand truck, and similar types of equipment.
Must be a very personable with a demonstrated ability to mentor and coach.
Must be resourceful and willing to take initiative with the ability to quickly solve problems.
Good communication skills, including public speaking.
Friendly, courteous, works well with others, and maintains a professional appearance.
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, AS400 experience a plus.
Self motivated with an attentiveness to details and a positive can-do attitude.
Ability to work flexible hours, hours will be higher or lower during different seasons.
Has enthusiasm for the job with a willingness to learn.
Assumes responsibility for personal development and training.
Highly organized with the ability to manage priorities and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
Basic mathematical skills.
Supervising and managing the Night Warehouse Loading and Wine and Spirits team members.
Promoting and facilitating a safety focused workplace.
Training new and existing team members on how to safely meet established production standards.
Maintaining all equipment, ensuring that everything is in good working condition at the beginning and end of each shift.
Identifying team members with performance, safety, or process deficiencies, then coaching them on correct practices.
Scheduling and responding to staffing needs and absences.
Function as a backup for Loading and Wine and Spirits callouts or gaps in coverage.
Completing all inventory & loading paperwork.
Taking responsibility for team moral, promoting a positive and inclusive team environment.
Communicating with Night Warehouse Manager and HR dept. for staffing needs.
Ensuring all trucks are loaded successfully for a timely launch.
Maintaining proper cleanliness of warehouse areas.
Complying with all government and ATCO job processes, work rules, policies, and instructions as they apply to your position.
