Position Summary
Position is responsible for supporting the company’s regulatory compliance function. This Position with ensure Product Vision (PV) data accuracy and compliance. Position will ensure the company meets all labelling and food regulations and that all updates, new formulations and ingredients are compliant with AFNA specifications and government regulations.
Position Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Labeling compliance:
- Generate Ingredient Statement and Nutritional Data intended for product labeling.
- Prepare label transmittals for USDA approvals and carry out generic approvals.
- Maintain and digitize all information in accordance with USDA/FDA regulations and make available to plant FSQA.
- Ensure that all packaging and labeling is reviewed and approved through digital asset management software and keep accurate logging of approval checklist
- Work directly with manager and/or analyst to ensure that the company meets all labeling requirements in accordance with USDA, FDA, FTC, AMS and FNS.
R&D Technical Database System:
- Update system in accordance with R&D master recipes via change form.
- Confirm accuracy with R&D.
- Assign premix numbers with direction from R&D through PV workflow
- Scan in product documentation (Transmittals, artwork, test values) and link to database.
- Discontinue finished products as directed from Marketing and Master Data team.
- Confirm recipe and ingredient changes to finished product labeling and communicate to manager.
Administrative Duties:
- Communicates daily with inter office personnel and plants to obtain necessary ingredient/supplier data. Convey communications and information as required through normal working protocol or as required by supervisor.
- Generate Purchase order for R&D and regulatory team members as needed.
- Log and track all orders and invoices.
- Back up raw material specialist as needed.
- Complete special projects as directed by manager and analyst.
- Responsible for all regulatory documentation and upkeep.
Position Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree in Food Science or related field or equivalent professional experience in food regulations
- Intermediate working knowledge with databases
- Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office and Product Vision
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Good organizational skills
- Range of Pay $27.00 - $32.00 per hour.
