Hourly base pay rate is $21.49 - $32.26/hour. The hourly base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. The AJC’s Digital/Web interns will learn to cultivate and grow audiences through social media, content curation/creation, and more. Throughout the course of the internship, interns will have the opportunity to experiment in a variety of areas depending on their skills and interests. We are looking for an intern who has skills in writing content for online platforms.
The AJC Programming team encompasses multiple areas including social media, platforms (ajc.com and app), optimization/SEO, and newsletters.
What You’ll Do
- Producers for the social team work on the execution of our strategy across our social media platforms, including but not limited to Facebook, X, Instagram
- Producers for the platforms team work on the AJC website crafting headlines, visual packages and more, to ensure that we are presenting our top news to our audience in the best manner possible and driving engagement
- Producers on our optimization team work to provide headlines, packaging and presentation, cross-linking and more to ensure that we are presenting our top news to our audience in the best manner possible and driving engagement

- Currently, a college student pursuing a bachelor’s or advanced degree in Journalism, Graphic Design, Communications, Marketing, Advertising
- We also accept applications from those who have graduated within six months of the start of the summer internship
- Strong preference for applicants who have worked on campus media content and/or had previous professional news internship
- Ability to adapt to change and work effectively in ambiguity
- Well-developed analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Strong communication, relationship-building, and organization skills
- Computer skills, which include Microsoft Office suite and online research ability

Intern/Co-Op sessions are considered temporary employment. No full-time employment commitments are made. However, depending on our business needs, some interns may be considered for a full-time position following the conclusion of the session conditioned upon the intern graduating from their academic program and being available to commence full-time employment at a specified time.
