Responsibilities
- Plans, designs, coordinates, and manages public works projects, focusing on roads, water, and wastewater infrastructure
- Manages project budgets and schedules for outside consultants, including bidding and construction
- Reviews and approves change orders and payment requests for consultants and contractors
- Signs, seals, and prepares engineering plans, reports, specifications, and contract documents
- Prepares, reviews, and evaluates project schedules, resolving conflicts in capital improvement projects
- Coordinates municipal projects with other departments, municipalities, and state and federal agencies, and approves materials, methods, and related documents
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
- 10 years Municipal Engineering experience
- New Jersey PE license is a must.
- Planning, designing, and building infrastructure projects such as roads, bridges, water supply systems, and public buildings.
- Municipal public works infrastructure, focusing on road, water, and wastewater delivery systems
- Local and state laws, codes, ordinances, and regulations that oversee municipal engineering
