Join our Platform Operations Team
Our Platform & Reliability Engineering team collaborates across our organization to ensure the performance of our global content-delivery platform.
We ensure our platform operates safely, reliably and adapts based on customer demand. We establish and monitor Key Performance Indicators, make configuration changes safely and oversee and operate over 300k servers in Akamai's global network.

As a Shift Manager, you will build and maintain a team of NOCC engineers and technicians. You will resolve service interruptions within the NOCC or escalate to internal or external entities.
You will also managing and track events through resolution and maintain a history of network-impacting issues.
As a Shift Manager, you will be responsible for :
- Managing the daily operations of the team while continuing to mentor and collaborate with peers
- Monitoring and troubleshooting Akamai's 24 / 7 platform, network traffic, threats and alerts
- Analyzing business data to find areas for process improvement.
- Working with fellow managers across shifts and locations to ensure operational efficiency
- Collaborating with internal groups to recognize business needs, and how our group provide improvements
- Maintaining advanced knowledge of our systems and providing training to NOCC Technicians
Do what you love
To be successful in this role you will :
- Have 5 years of relevant experience
- Display solid experience of administering, monitoring and resolving issues in a high availability platform environment
- Demonstrate solid experience of Linux / Unix system administration and good knowledge of SQL and Scripting languages
- Be experienced in network technologies and internet protocols such as TCP / IP, WAN and DNS
