Patient Safety Companion
Location: Syracuse, NY 13210
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: 12 hour Day or Eve or Night
Pay rate: $25/hr. on w2 with benefits
Weekly expected hours: 36
- Safety Companion providing constant observation of a patient who is a safety or suicide risk.
- Will provide service on 12-hour evening shift 11-2330, 6, 12-hour shifts in a two-week pay period.
Safety Companion who provides constant observation of patients in need of safety watch, including those patients on suicide watch and those that are confused, agitated and/or at high risk for falls and injury to self. Some basic patient care expected such as ambulation, toileting, skin care and mouth care as needed.
Must have BLS Certification. Must be able to perform basic patient care such as ambulation, toileting, skin care and mouth care as needed. Demonstrates excellent communication skills, ability to work collaboratively with team providing updates to the nurses as needed. Must exhibit a patient center focus. Provides constant observation of patients in need of safety watch, including those patients on suicide watch and those that are confused, agitated and/or at high risk for falls and injury to self.
