Description
Akerman LLP, a top 100 U.S. law firm serving clients across the Americas, is seeking a Client Development Manager. The location for this position is flexible, with the following markets preferred: Florida, Chicago, New York and Washington, D.C. The Client Development Manager assists in implementing programs that support practice group business plans and enhance the business and reputation of the firm. The incumbent will successfully assist in managing multiple competing priorities within a matrix environment and establish solid working relationships with diverse personalities across multiple offices.
Responsibilities:
- Working with Director of Client Development and Senior Client Development Manager to develop and implement client development, marketing, and communications plans.
- Meeting with practice group leaders on a frequent basis.
- Creating and monitoring client development programs, including cross-selling initiatives.
- Managing development of client-specific presentations, proposals, and RFP/RFI responses as well as other client-facing materials.
- Managing development of all practice-related collateral for general use in print and on firm website.
- Supports senior manager to onboard new laterals joining the practice group.
- Develops story placement ideas for media relations team and identifies speaker placement opportunities.
- Tracks completed transaction details and manages practice submissions for directories, databases, and other publications as needed.
- Manages the groups M&A activity and works with Senior Manager to submit for various League Tables on a quarterly basis / OR Experience Managing M&A Deal Activity and Preparing Data for Various League Tables Preferred
- Identifies opportunities for sponsorships and other brand-building opportunities
- Coordinates practice-related events and sponsorships.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- 8 to 10 years of experience, preferably with an AmLaw 100, financial services, or professional services firm, in a business development or marketing role
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to meet multiple and competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Exceptional customer service skills and ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to work with individuals at all levels across the firm, and to work well in a team environment, collaborating effectively with team members with varying perspectives
- Strong proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, PowerPoint, and Adobe
- Experience working with Private Equity and Investment Banking industries preferred
