Position Summary
The individual for this position will serve in the role of Quality and Safety Associate. The essential function of the Quality and Safety Associate is to champion the total formal safety and quality programs as the processes to manage the business. - Understand Quality and Safety processes and procedures.
- Identify gaps in training.
- Document baseline of all personnel.
- Develop improvement plan with Chicago leadership and Corporate Safety Director.
- Maintain (and/or develop) the S &Q Program.
- Continuous Training and Education.
- Compliance with OSHA Rules and Regulations.
- Effective communication between Production and Administration.
- Develop and implement quality management strategy and plans, including resource, systems, timescales, and benchmarks for total quality improvement.
- Develop and maintain systems to establish standards relating to activities and products.
- Develop and maintain systems to measure performance against established standard.
- Monitor the performance and take corrective action when necessary.
- Liaise with customers and suppliers where necessary.
- Contribute to executive policy and strategy.
- Provide a suitable and current plan to communicate information and supervision concerning health and safety policies and practices.
- Formulates and maintains quality objectives complementary to corporate policies and goals.
- Interprets quality philosophy to key personnel in organization.
- Develops and initiates standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation.
- Plans and oversees the analysis, inspection, design, test, and/or integration to assure the quality of assigned product or component.
- Decides whether to accept a product or continue business with a vendor based on a review by the quality assurance engineer.
- Periodically reviews all data obtained during all quality control and quality assurance activities to ensure consistency with company policies and procedures.
- Develops new approaches to solve problems identified during quality activities.
- Keeps management team abreast of significant issues or developments identified during quality activities and actions being taken to improve the situation.
- Prepares and presents technical and program information to the management team.
- Directs workers engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure continuous control over materials, facilities, and products.
- Plays active role on quality management teams within organization.
- Designs and implements quality training programs to key personnel in conjunction with Associates.
- Investigates and adjusts customer complaints regarding quality.
- Ability to work in excess of 40 hours, as business needs arise

- Ability to frequently sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arm’s length, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time at desk in traditional office environment.
- Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
- Ability to work at least 75% of the time on site to facilitate collaboration with production facility.

Education & Experience
- High school diploma, GED with one to two years of experience
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., industrial engineering, quality management, occupational
- Experience in quality control and safety management, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- General understanding of quality control methodologies and safety best practices.
- Knowledge of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001) and safety regulations.
- Effective communication and training abilities.
