Duties
- Assist veterinarians during examinations and procedures, ensuring the comfort and safety of animals.
- Perform routine animal care tasks, including feeding, bathing, and exercising pets.
- Administer medications as directed by veterinarians, including oral and injectable medications.
- Handle and restrain animals safely during examinations and treatments to prevent injury to staff and pets.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic, including sterilizing instruments and preparing examination rooms.
- Monitor animal behavior and vital signs, reporting any changes or concerns to the veterinary team.
- Assist with laboratory tests, including collecting samples for analysis.
- Provide support to pet owners by answering questions and educating them on proper animal care.
- Assist with/set up surgery & dental suites prior to surgical procedures.
- Perform laundry duties.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
- Assist with transporting pets to and from exam rooms.
- Assist the CSR with scheduling/reception as needed.

Qualifications & Skills
- Knowledge of veterinary practices and procedures is preferred.
- Completion of a veterinary assistant program is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills required.
- Basic understanding of animal behavior and restraint techniques.
- High school diploma or equivalent (at minimum).
- Ability to lift and restrain animals of various sizes.
- Ability to lift, stand, bend and/or kneel for the duration of an (up to) 8-hour shift.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends or holidays (as needed).
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Compassion and empathy towards animals and their owners.
- Basic computer skills for managing records and scheduling.
- Physical stamina and ability to perform repetitive tasks.
- Good problem-solving skills and the ability to stay calm under pressure.
- Commitment to maintaining a clean work environment.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
