In this role, you will be responsible for managing the procurement process of materials for Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) operations. You’ll work closely with our engineering and operations teams to ensure the availability of indirect materials necessary to support our manufacturing processes. Your expertise will be crucial in maintaining smooth, efficient operations by ensuring that the right materials are sourced, delivered on time, and meet the highest standards of quality.

Position Summary:
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Buyer – Indirect Materials to manage the procurement of MRO supplies, office and administrative materials, and other general business purchases. This role ensures the timely, cost-effective acquisition of essential supplies while minimizing operational disruptions. The ideal candidate will drive purchasing efficiency, identify cost-saving opportunities, build strong supplier relationships, and support office management functions, including receptionist duties.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement & Vendor Management:
- Source, negotiate, and procure indirect materials such as MRO supplies, spare parts, tools, equipment, office supplies, packaging, and general business necessities.
- Manage purchase orders and confirmations using SAP ERP, ensuring accurate order processing.
- Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to forecast supply needs and maintain optimal inventory levels.
- Identify and evaluate new suppliers and technologies to enhance quality and reduce total cost of ownership.
- Monitor purchasing trends and supplier performance to drive cost savings, bulk purchasing, and contract negotiations.
- Address and resolve order discrepancies, shortages, and supplier-related issues proactively.
Office & Administrative Support:
- Oversee mail operations, ensuring timely receipt and dispatch of incoming and outgoing correspondence.
- Maintain breakroom inventory, ensuring a well-stocked and organized space for employees.
- Ensure conference rooms are properly equipped with necessary materials and technology for seamless meetings.
- Coordinate hotel and travel arrangements for employees and guests to support business operations.
- Manage online procurement, including ordering and tracking supplies from platforms like Amazon and other vendors.
Requirements:
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Experience in procurement, supply chain, or purchasing within an industrial setting (MRO experience preferred).
- Strong administrative skills with a keen eye for detail and organization.
- ERP experience (SAP preferred) for purchase order processing and inventory management.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Work Environment:
- Primarily an office-based role with occasional interaction in warehouse/operations areas.
- Standard business hours, with flexibility for occasional after-hours tasks as needed.
