Akkodis is seeking a skilled Desktop Support & A/V Technician for a 6 month, contract opportunity to provide onsite technical support, focusing on end-user device management and audio/visual (A/V) system operations for our IT client in Whippany, NJ.
Rate: $25-$28/hr. on W2. The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Job Overview
This role is critical in ensuring seamless day-to-day functionality of conference rooms, desktop systems, and related technology. The technician will work independently onsite while collaborating with a remote support team.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on desktop support, including installing, repairing, upgrading, and configuring end-user devices.
- Support and troubleshoot A/V systems in conference rooms, including Microsoft Teams Room equipment and general A/V setups.
- Perform hardware and software diagnostics to resolve technical issues effectively.
- Assist with office moves, including setting up and configuring IT and A/V equipment in new locations.
- Execute minimal migration tasks as required.
- Proactively monitor and maintain conference room equipment to ensure functionality.
- Act as the primary onsite point of contact for technical support while coordinating with a remote team for escalations and additional support.
Technical Environment & Requirements
Essential Technical Skills:
- Experience with troubleshooting and managing Microsoft Teams Room systems.
- Knowledge of general A/V equipment, including audio, video, and connectivity setups.
- Expertise in desktop support, including hardware/software installation, configuration, and repair.
- Familiarity with basic network troubleshooting.
Soft Skills:
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage tasks effectively.
- A proactive, problem-solving mindset.
Work Setup
- Team Structure: The technician will work onsite independently while being supported by a remote technical team.
- Onsite Presence: Full-time, Monday through Friday during standard business hours (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM).
