Akkodis is seeking an Entry-level Automotive Engineer for a Contract-to-possible-Hire position in Raymond, OH. This position requires schooling in Automotive Engineering or Manufacturing.

- Rate Range: $25.00 to $29.00 per hour. The rate may be negotiable depending on experience, education, geographic location and other factors.
- Duration: 6-12 months with excellent chance of Conversion to Salaried/Direct Hire position.

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct 3D scans of automotive interiors and exteriors using advanced scanning equipment.
- Process and analyze scan data to create accurate digital models.
- Design and build test fixtures.
- Perform interior performance testing and interior capacity measurements.
- Collaborate with engineers and designers to integrate scan data and test results into R&D projects.
- Maintain and calibrate 3D scanning equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Document scanning procedures, test results, and measurements, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
- Assist in the development and improvement of scanning techniques, testing methods, and processes.
- Perform light hand-work tasks such as part modification, part assembly and disassembly as needed to support R&D activities.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to 3D scanning equipment and software.
- Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards in the lab environment.
- Maintain and organize lab and shop environment.
- Driving test vehicles at test facilities and courses.
Qualifications:
- Associates degree or higher in Automotive Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience with 3D scanning technology and software (e.g., Romer/Polyworks, FARO, Artec, Geomagic).
- Strong technical skills and familiarity with CAD software such as CATIA V5/V6.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
- Experience in interior performance testing and capacity measurement, especially cargo volume and other catalogue measurements.
- Excellent time management, attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to perform light hand-work tasks, including mock-up of parts into automotive interior to confirm performance proof of concept.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
- Knowledge of automotive design and manufacturing processes is a plus.
- Valid drivers license.
