Location: Hyrbrid based in Sacramento - (On-site presence required on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Remote work on Mondays and Fridays)
Pay: $50-80/hr
We are seeking an experienced IT Business Relationship Manager (BRM) to support multiple business units within a large public utility organization. This role serves as a strategic liaison between IT and business operations, working to ensure technology initiatives align with business objectives and deliver maximum value. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, technical acumen, and the ability to foster cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a trusted advisor to business units, aligning IT initiatives with business strategies and priorities.
- Collaborate with the IT PMO, business leadership, stakeholders, and SMEs to define and deliver effective technology solutions.
- Translate technical concepts into terms understandable by non-technical stakeholders.
- Drive consensus across departments with competing objectives to ensure effective prioritization of technology initiatives.
- Promote strategic portfolio management practices and help identify critical paths in resource-constrained environments.
- Leverage frameworks such as ITIL for service delivery, incident management, and continuous improvement.
Mandatory Requirements:
- Strong ability to clearly articulate IT concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Proven understanding of business operations, industry trends, and strategic planning processes.
- Solid foundational knowledge of IT infrastructure, systems, and emerging technologies.
- Demonstrated success in stakeholder relationship management across all organizational levels.
- Strong analytical skills for identifying challenges, proposing solutions, and improving IT-business outcomes.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a similar BRM or IT liaison role.
Technical Requirements:
- Working knowledge of network, server, and database systems.
- Familiarity with IT service management frameworks like ITIL.
- Experience with ERP systems and understanding of their integration across business functions.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Experience in strategic portfolio management and familiarity with current technology trends.
- Experience working within Agile and Waterfall delivery frameworks.
- Knowledge of the utility industry and supporting systems (preferred but not required).
