What are the responsibilities and job description for the Device Engineer (Contract) position at Akoustis, Inc.?
We are seeking a Device Engineer to work with the engineering team to conduct BAW resonator research and development as well as to support production. This engineer will support new product development by setting up PDK models and process parameters for optimal performance and by supporting accurate frequency control. This is a 6-month contract with the potential for a longer engagement.
Additional information regarding project deliverables include:
- Evaluate device experiments via statistical analysis of measured and modeled data
- Define and generate resonator equivalent circuit models to be used in filter product design
- Define and assist in BAW thickness control processes (deposition, etch, and trim) for optimal BAW filter performance in development and production
- Define and assist in monitoring process and device metrics to validate processed wafer quality
- Work with manufacturing team to translate the impact of FAB processes to resonator and filter metrics
- Support characterization and test setups for resonator and filters
- Define and assist with generation of DRC rules along with resonator and filter PDK
- Support mask generation and layout
- Provide regular feedback on the resonator performance to the design team
Ideally, we are looking for someone who:
- Has earned an advanced degree (MS or higher) in EE, physics or related fields
- At least 1 year semiconductor device experience, ideally in BAW/MEMS technology
- Process experience, academic or industry is preferred
- Strong background in RF BAW resonator physics and technology development
- Strong background in RF circuits and electromagnetics
- Understanding of statistical analysis of characterization and modeling data for evaluation of DoE
- Understanding of equivalent device circuit models to support IC designs
