Media Specialist/Trainer (Freelance Role)
We are hiring a Media Specialist/Trainer to support the Akoya team on multiple contracts in a freelance capacity.
The Media Specialist/Trainer will be responsible for:
- Conducting individual and group media training with federal and state officials
- Advising on strategies for successful interaction with traditional and new media and providing specific feedback on client media interactions
- Staying abreast of and consulting on the current day media landscape
- Providing in-person, hands-on training on how to handle media interviews, press conferences, and public speaking engagements
- Coaching clients on how to communicate messages effectively
Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years of experience working in a Communications or Press office, Media Services, or Television/Radio environment and a Bachelor’s Degree in relevant fields including Communications, Journalism or Public Relations
- U.S. citizenship is required with verbal and written fluency in English
- Must be able to receive and maintain a federal security clearance (public trust level)
- Must be able to travel to events in Pennsylvania
- Candidate must currently be living in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Ohio, Virgina, West Virginia or Washington D.C.
Desired Qualifications
- Training on the topic of interviewing skills/media skills/public speaking in government or private sector settings
Base Compensation
- Base compensation: $100.00 to $110.00/hour. Actual compensation is subject to variation due to factors such as location, education, years of experience, and candidate skillset.
